Almas Tower, located on its own island, is a 63-floor skyscraper and the most prominent tower in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). The name of the structure and its stunning diamond-shaped design were inspired by the goal of its construction, which was to position Dubai as one of the world's top five diamond trade locations. With the successful construction of the Almas Tower, Dubai rose to become the third-best diamond trade centre in the world. The commercial high-rise houses a variety of enterprises like Dubai Diamond Exchange, Dubai Pearl Exchange, and Dubai Gems Club since it is the centre of the gemstone industry. Almas Tower is also the corporate office for the developer and the award-winning global commodities trading Dubai free zone Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).
Almas Tower was designed by Atkins and it was handed over in 2008. Almas Tower has over 789,238 sq. ft. of office space and it has a varying floor plate ranging from 7,000 -14,000 sq. ft.
DMCC is one of the foremost Dubai free zones and a prominent mixed-use area in Dubai with residences, offices, retail, F&B, public parks and as the name suggests, multiple lakes. Every cluster at DMCC contains three buildings and is named from A to Z. Skyscrapers that are both residential and commercial sorts predominate in the neighbourhood. JLT is home to over 12 million sq. ft. of office space and nearly 14,500 residential units.
