Previously known as Dubai World Central, Dubai South is one of the largest upcoming mixed-use districts in Dubai. It is home to Al Maktoum International Airport, which will eventually become the world’s largest airport is the main part of Dubai South. As the leading Dubai free zone it shall comprise a number of activities including logistics, aviation, office spaces, exhibition, humanitarian, residential and other related businesses around Al Maktoum International Airport.
This Dubai free zone is home to large commercial office spaces, purpose-built warehouses and upcoming residential communities being developed by Dubai South, Emaar and MAG.
Dubai South, sometimes also referred to as Dubai World Central is split into eight areas, Commercial District, Golf District, Humanitarian District, Logistics District, Aviation District, Business Park (free-zone area), Exhibition District (Expo 2020 site) and the Residential District. The Residential District is a master planned fully integrated ecosystem offering world-class community living within an urban environment. The residential area comprises villas, townhouses and apartments along with amenities including hotels, a shopping mall, boulevards and green spaces. The residential area will benefit from being in close proximity to the World Expo 2020 site which is expected to be re-purpurposed for commercial use as per their legacy plans.
